On 8th February 2017 Beyond Energy Action Strategies” (BEAST) project partners together with the project partners from the “Mayors in Action” (MiA) project organized the Final Event of both projects which was attended by about 100 people.

On 6th December 2016 Smøla hatchery project won the yearly environmental prize for the More and Romsdal county. The prize is given to a person, company or association in the county that have done formidable efforts towards environment. Smøla hatchery treats the water in the plant in an energy and environmentally friendly way and also produces biogas from the fish sludge (Which is part of the BEAST project).
On 25th November, 2016 Canary Islands Institute of technology (ITC) had a meeting with the participation of the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria University (ULPGC) in order to discuss possibilities for further integration of renewable energies (RES) and promotion of efficiency and energy saving in the Canary Islands.
On 8th December 2016 Cyprus Energy Agency invites to a National Workshop “Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy, “Challenges and opportunities towards 2030”
A National Workshop on the promotion of the new Covenant of Mayors for Climate& Energy organized by the Cyprus Energy Agency will be held in Cyprus on the 8th of December 2016. It is an event not to be missed where very distinguished speakers are invited.
From 19th to 30th September 2016 City of Dubrovnik in collaboration with Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, University of Zagreb (UNIZAG FSB) and City of Dubrovnik Development Agency (DURA) hosted SWAT Studio workshop. SWAT Studio is a Building Technology programme for MSc 3 students from the Delft University of Technology. It consists of 3 main parts. One of it is onsite intensive 2-weeks workshop that was held in City of Dubrovnik.
Comhairle nan Eilean Siar recently hosted visitors from eight EU partner countries: Belgium, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Cyprus, Spain, Croatia and Latvia, as part of its involvement in the EU-funded BEAST (Beyond Energy Action Strategies) project.
The diocese in Linköping, Sweden wants to inspire their congregations and parishes to begin to choose electric vehicles instead of fossil fueled cars and they have a vision of one charging spot at each church tower! The church wants to be seen in the environment and climate efforts in order to be credible and their motto is -
"We share the earth, sun, sea, and air. We see the earth as a gift, God's breath through millions of years of development which we have been given the task to manage and develop. This task is yours and mine.”
